Contradictions of Faith

One of the greatest contradictions of faith is that while Christians believe the afterlife is what matters, they bring in new members by helping people out with the problems of this life. On the other hand, Atheists believe this life is all you've got, but they tend to be libertarian individualists who not only don't help others in order to bring them into the fold (saying "you're wrong about religion!" doesn't make them attractive), they in general, don't do much to help other equally independent atheists.

Case in point:
Faith-based effort to avert foreclosures SFGate
